8 June 2023: Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols

Our 10th anniversary sessions continue at Glossop Labour Club on Thursday 8th June when we’ll be playing one of the most controversial albums ever released. On vinyl and in full.

Released in October 1977, Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols has probably been written and talked about more than any other album. Possibly more than it’s actually been played or heard! It’s reputation precedes it, and that it can still shock over 45 years since it was originally released is proof of the albums power and the continuing cultural significance of the Pistols. But what does it sound like after all this time? Let’s find out!

Doors 8pm, music starts at 8.30. See you there!

Looking ahead to July, we’ll be marking the 50th anniversary of David Bowie’s final performance as Ziggy Startdust, playing the album of that very show, recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon, London on 3rd July 1973. Full details soon.

Glossop Record Club is all about sharing great music and stories, with the emphasis on listening without distraction and giving it your full, undivided attention. So that means phones off and no talking while the main albums are playing, but we always make sure there’s plenty of time to grab a drink and have a chat throughout the night.
