We’re back on Thursday 10th October for a special session with one of our loyal regulars Tom Lyon in control of the turntable for one night only, celebrating his 40th birthday (he’s just a baby!) by treating us to some of his favourite records plus a full album playback. He’s also promising cake! If that’s not an incentive, we don’t know what is!
Doors open 8pm, music kicks off at 8.30pm. See you there!
TOM’S TAKEOVER with Tom Lyon
Thursday 10th October
Glossop Labour Club, Chapel Street, Glossop, SK13 8AT
While we’re here, advance notice of November’s session, when we’ll be welcoming Strawberry Studios historian Dr Peter Wadsworth, the driving force behind the excellent exhibition at Stockport Museum (under threat of closure due to funding cuts, so get there while you can), to talk about the history of the studio and the people who recorded there, from 10cc and Paul McCartney to Joy Division via St Winifred’s School Choir, The Sisters of Mercy and beyond. Put it in your diary.
Established 2013, Glossop Record Club is the monthly vinyl-listening session which puts the music first. Have a look here to find out more about what we do and our past sessions.
