BUDDY HOLLY with Bill Jubb – records played

Bill (left) with friend and fellow Buddy Holly fan Chris

Not only was it Glossop Record Club’s 3rd birthday, but with the help of rock & roll historian Bill Jubb we celebrated the 80th birthday of Buddy Holly with a selection of songs from throughout Buddy’s short but prolific career and plenty of stories along the way. Bill was ably assisted by friend and fellow Buddy Holly superfan Chris. We even had one attendee who was lucky enough to have seen Holly in concert at Sheffield City Hall in 1958 (and still has the ticket stub to prove it). We were also treated to live music by Steve Roberts with a song about his own connection to Buddy Holly.

We’ll be back on Thursday 13th October for a night of Punk, details soon.
