Hello record clubbers, hope you’re all keeping well.
For our fifth ‘album of the month’ virtual session, record club stalwart Gavin Hogg has chosen Adam & The Ants 1979 debut album ‘Dirk Wears White Sox’ for our shared listening pleasure. To help set the scene, check out the playlist which features artists that were an influence on the band, tracks by Ants off-shoots The Monochrome Set and Bow Wow Wow, alongside a few early non-album tracks by the band themselves. Gavin will be telling us more about the making of the album and the complicated early history of the band as part of the session.

HOW TO TAKE PART
We’ll be convening online via Zoom on the second Thursday of each month at 8pm. The session will begin with an introduction to the album by the person who’s chosen it, which we’ll then listen to in real time on whichever format is available to you – vinyl, CD or streaming (links will be provided for streaming services), coming back together on Zoom once the album has finished for a chat about what we’ve listened to.
A couple of days before the session you’ll receive an email with links for the Zoom meeting and streaming options for the album, plus a rough outline of how the session will work. The Zoom link will only be shared in this email, so if you do want to take part and join in, you must sign up in advance.
