Thanks to everyone who braved Storm Callum and ventured out for our Aretha Franklin tribute session. Special thanks also to Steve McNamee for great records and stories. Pure joy from start to finish! A full list of records played is below, along with links to listen to a selection of those records.
@GlossopRecord another top night, listening to Aretha Franklin. Always amazed at how much knowledge there is in the room. Thanks to @SteveMcVinyl and @simongmusic73. Only heard the classic Aretha songs before the live album stuff was ace.
It was a joy to hear Aretha letting rip at full volume through the big speakers at @GlossopRecord last night. If her ecstatic screaming on Mary Don’t You Weep doesn’t get your spine tingling then you’d better check your pulse.
As always it was a great night especially with the edition of Smashy and Nicey. Some fantastic songs played. Thanks Steve and Simon.
Never thought I’d hear myself say that a live gospel album was my favourite part of the evening. As usual, enjoyable and educational in equal measures, Thanks @SteveMcVinyl and @simongmusic73
Great night thanks Simon! Powerful choice & range of records from the wonderful Aretha, loved it!
