Glossop Record Club is back (after a little summer break) on Thursday 14th September for THE SOUNDS OF 1967.
Join us as we dig deeper than the usual Sgt Pepper, flower power and summer of love, with a stack of vinyl that changed the world, playing a mix of singles and album tracks, and of course, an album in full.
And when it comes to which album, we’re spoilt for choice, with classic long players from the likes of Cream, Love, The Who, The Kinks, Buffalo Springfield and The Mothers Of Invention among others to choose from. It was also an amazing year for debut albums with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, The Doors, Leonard Cohen and The Velvet Underground all making their mark (or trying to) on the music world. It’s from that roll-call of debut offerings that we’ll be selecting our full album to play on the night.
So, relax your mind, open your ears and join us at Glossop Labour Club from 8pm. And don’t forget to dig through your records and bring your own sounds of 1967 to share. See you there!
