September’s Record Club – 1973 – featured album and vote

As previously mentioned, the theme for the first Glossop Record Club is 1973 and our featured album will be Roxy Music’s ‘For Your Pleasure’.

I’ve also been rifling through my record collection for other albums released that year and I was quite surprised to discover how many I have! So, as we’ll have time to listen to two albums, the choice of the second album is open to a vote (see below). Feel free to check your own collections and add any other 1973 albums to the list that you can bring along, but please remember… IT MUST BE ON VINYL.

If you need a memory jog, this Wikipedia entry for 1973 in music might prove useful, but as ever with that site, double check the facts for yourself.

And just a reminder about date, time and venue – Thursday 12th September, 8pm – 11pm, Glossop Labour Club, Chapel Street, Glossop, SK13 8AT.

  1. Oooh, I have some really interesting choices in my collection from 1973. Bruce Forsyth – The Musical Side of Brucie, Dick Emery – Dick Emery Sings, Reg Varney – On the 88’s at Abbey Road, The Two Ronnies – Jehosophat and Jones. I could go on, but it’s probably best I don’t!
